May 10: “Field Report: Week 1 – May 5–10, 2025”

Monday, May 5
The put-in crew arrived late in the evening of Monday in Kangerlussuaq, May 5, and settling in at KISS.

Tuesday, May 6
First thing on the to do was finding polar gear for the group. After we went shopping for groceries to prepare lunch. In the afternoon, some of the team went for a tour to the harbor and Kelly Ville guided by Josephine.

Wednesday, May 7
Part of the team focused on organizing the pallets and reviewing food supplies. While other tested the satellite phones. In the evening, the whole team went for dinner at Roklubben.

Thursday, May 8
Morning work started with charging and putting in the waypoint on the GPS going with the traverse team. The afternoon was a field excursion to Russell Glacier.

Friday, May 9
Continued work on pallet preparation. Checked and packed luggage intended for the upcoming flight aboard the LC-130 (109th Airlift Wing). All items were secured on the pallets, which were then sealed and made ready for transport.

Saturday, May 10
Scheduled flight was postponed due to the weather conditions. The new departure date is Monday May 12.
