Today, we removed the last infrastructure of EGRIP camp: The electrical power grid. Since 2016, our main generator has supplied a number of power outlets throughout camp via a cable well. Today, we closed the well and retrieved as many cables and plugs as we could. We continue to stow cargo onto sleds, as slowly the area is looking more and more tidy. We also closed our main water supply to the dome, as we need to empty our snow melter tank and put it on a sled. The weather is very warm for the season and since there was very little wind, people were working outside without coats or thick pants. In the evening, we had a drink outside, enjoying the Sun and good company.
What we did today:
1. Removing last parts of EGRIP power grid. Cable well is closed.
2. Building sleds.
3. Closing main water supply for dome.
Weather today: Overcast in the morning, later clearing. Temp. -7 to 0 C, calm to 3 kt from SW, visibility unrestricted.
