Things are taking shape. Soon, we’ll be able to re-stock both garages and beging to organize our winter cargo line. We are also getting closer to finishing the skiway. The skiway will be used by a Basler (modernized DC3) to pick us up next week. It will also be ready for our put-in in 2026. We had one disappointment today. As we finished a trench for mounting a balloon to cast a snow cave, we discovered that we have brought the wrong balloon from Kangerlussuaq. We brought a blue balloon allright, but the one we have is a blue balloon for radar surveys. Well, we’ll just have to cope without a snow cave this winter. And we have worked out a solution for that.
What we have done today:
1. Disassembling traverse trains.
2. Placed more markers on skiway.
3. Covered carpenter’s garage.
4. Made trench for winter storage.
Weather: Morning fog. Mixed clouds and sunshine. Weak to 8-10 kt from S and SSE, temp -20 C to -8 C. Visibility in the morning 1 km, later to horizon.
