Now, we are almost ready to fill up the garages. Both garages will be outfitted and stocked exactly as they were at EGRIP. This way, we might have a chance of finding the tools and other supplies where we expect them. Quite a few materials and summer tents etc. will be stored on heavy sleds which will be parked on snow hills for winter. Other materials will be stored in a cargo line, elevated from the snow. So hopefully, over the next few days, the clutter of things on the snow will disappear leaving and orderly camp.
We also now have an airstrip, or a skiway for ski equipped airplanes. So we can be picked up by a plane next week.
What we have done today:
1. Skiway, lead-ins and apron fully marked and ready for grooming.
2. Outfitting garages with floors and furniture.
3. Extending casing on GRIP borehole. Top of casing now 1 m above snow surface.
4. Berm ready for white storage garage.
Weather: Overcast and light snowfall. 4-10 kt from SE turning NNW, temp -15 C to -8 C. Visibility 1 km, snowfall.
