Tomorrow we will have our first aircraft of the season flying to GRIP, so we have all been busy getting the everything ready. Cargo has had to be ready for shipping out of camp, the skiway had to be groomed one more time with a Pistenbully, and the final batch of skiway markers had to be raised. Also, in Kangerlussuaq the Marie our field operations manager has been busy readying cargo going here to GRIP together with the 7 new GRIP camp members that a scheduled to go to camp the coming days. After a long day both at GRIP and in Kangerlussuaq, we here in camp were once again spoiled by Anders excellent cooking, even though Anders is looking very much forward to an expanded food supply arriving with the upcoming planes.
What we did Tuesday:
- Groomed skiway, taxiways and apron
- Groomed area between the dome and skiway
- Raised and replaced broken skiway markers on northern half of skiway
- Started to organize food in white tent, and prepare for new supplies.
- Started clearing snow off of winter storage sledges.
- Readied cargo for tomorrows Skier mission.
- Installed ceilometer to measure cloud base height.
Weather today: Temp from to -34C to -18C, and mostly sunny. Wind 0-6kts, turning from W to WSW.
