A beautiful sunny Tuesday
Today was another beautiful sunny day with light winds, so the solar panel team opted for making the most of the favourable conditions moving up the dome, and mounting the panels that are to be highest up, and so they got 9 more panels mounted today! Thomas started the day, by grooming the apron and making a nice parking spot for the Twin Otter plane that we expect tomorrow. Bo inspected all the skiway markers, correcting the few that had blown over during windy days, while Sepp with various helpers started building pallets for retro cargo. The storage trench excavation also continued, with Thomas using the Pistenbully snow blower. The drillers also made progress with cabling to the work shop and further technical installations in the drill tent (see report below). Finally, the sunny weather was also perfect for Carlos solar radiation measurements, with a hole series carried out at various depths in the snow pack. As usual the day ended with Anders making yet another tasty dinner for all of us.
What we did this Tuesday:
- Groomed apron and made parking spot for Twin Otter.
- Inspected skiway markers, all are now standing tall.
- Started readying retro cargo for upcoming flight period.
- Continued excavation of storage trench.
- Installed casing lid and slip-and-slide
- Worked on drill chips handling system.
- Completed cable trench to drillers workshop.
- Mounted 9 solar panels on the dome, 49 panels are now in place.
- Made series om measurements in trench for solar radiation studies.

Weather: A sunny day with fairly low winds. Temp. from -18C to -11C. Wind increasing from 0-6kts in the early morning to 4-10kts in the afternoon and evening, mainly from SE.
