Today a first attempt of reaming the borehole casing was made with a concrete cutting bit and two antitorque sections to lower slipping in the casing. The reamer went down to about 32 m depth, but on the way up it was caught by a fiberglass edge that would not let the cutting bit pass. The drill therefore spent the night at 15 m depth in the borehole. The battery Viessman construction progressed well and the PFAS team went out to start drilling and sampling. Because of the arrival of many new field participants last Friday, we shifted the weekend one day so that our traditional Saturday night dinner was held Sunday evening. That also allowed us to celebrate the Greenland National Day. For the Sunday night dinner Sune prepared a Mediterranean-inspired pork cheek stew served with croquettes, homemade bread and vegetables of the season, which was followed by Pia’s lovely rhubarb pie. We had a cozy evening despite the critical situation in the drill tent.
