Today the drillers used various lengths of the Covax auger to penetrate the ice plug at 51 m depth in the main borehole and poke beyond. Due to stirred up fiberglass chips on top of the ice plug, it was not possible to access the 5 cm wide hole and analyze it in more detail with a camera. As far as we know, there is no drill fluid in the 2.5 meters below the ice plug. Additionally, new downhole tools were built to pick up fiberglass shards that will be tested tomorrow. During the day, it became quite windy and both the dome cable mounting and the PFAS sampling had to be halted early as it became too cold. The shallow drill that arrived yesterday with the Basler has been assembled and will be tested tomorrow. The drill will thus soon be ready to be deployed outside camp for the PFAS and ICELINK projects. The big storage trench is soon ready for use and is very much needed for storage of ice samples, food etc.

- Moved battery Viessmann cabin to final destination
- Started slow charging of batteries in Viessmann cabin
- Connected solar panel cables
- Made inventory of food in cook’s freezer
- Continued Covax drilling at PFAS site to X m depth
