July 17: Leaving GRIP camp

Today was great weather for flying, and the Basler arrived from SFJ at 11AM. After finishing the last packing and having lunch, the generator and communications were shot down and the dome was closed. At 13:30 the Basler was in the air from GRIP with 8 pax and a light retro cargo. GRIP camp is hereby closed for the season.

What we did this Thursday:

  1. Cleaned up in kitchen and stored put-in food in cellar
  2. Emptied out last water in dome from tanks, laundry machine etc
  3. Packed electronics and communications as retro including NAS drive
  4. Stored weather station, ceilometer and OneWeb antenna in dome
  5. Placed Starlink #1 antenna in sofa in cupola, and Starlink #2 in cellar
  6. Disconnected polar bear radar and stored in cellar
  7. Parked PB and tomatoes on winter hills

Weather: Nice flying weather with mostly blue sky and low wind. Temperatures around -10C. Wind 5-10 kt from WNW.

Cleaning up in dome was taken very seriously, even the bottle shelf was emptied
